Why choose me?
Some background
I’m based just outside Exeter, Devon, supporting women locally and online. My perimenopause started in my mid-forties, and I’m now several years post-menopause. I understand how challenging this time can feel. I also know that every menopause journey is unique.
I’m a former psychology academic turned menopause coach
I have a PhD in psychology and my research and teaching in recent years focused on women, ageing, and menopause. What I love most is turning that knowledge into practical, compassionate support. My holistic, evidence-based approach draws on psychological insight, lifestyle strategies, and up-to-date knowledge about menopause treatment options to help you feel informed and more like yourself.
Before coaching privately, I founded and ran a large university menopause network, becoming the go-to person for advice. Alongside this, I spent 16 years in a senior pastoral role, offering one-to-one ongoing support to students navigating complex wellbeing challenges.
Putting it into practice
Now, I bring that same empathy, energy, and experience to menopause coaching. I believe in an “agent, not victim” mindset. You’re not powerless, even if it sometimes feels that way. You’re strong, capable, and full of potential. Through coaching, I help you reconnect with that strength so you can thrive, not just cope, through this life stage and beyond.
Don’t fear it
I believe menopause isn’t something to be feared or that you need to be fixed. It’s a natural transition that’s part of the broader journey of ageing, not a disease. While it can bring challenges, it’s also a time to pause, reassess, and work out what matters.
Mindset matters
I take a pro-age perspective: I don’t view ageing as a decline, but rather as a deepening of self-awareness, clarity, and strength. This mindset runs through all of my work. Coaching isn’t about getting back to who you were, but about helping you to embrace who you are now and to thrive in this next phase of your life.
Outside of private coaching
I’m a proud member of the Menopause Friendly Awareness Panel, championing best practice in the workplace. I am a menopause workplace trainer and coach for Mpath. As an invited speaker and discussion panel contributor, I also help raise awareness and promote education on menopause and ageing.
When I’m not working… you’ll find me on family walks in the Devon countryside, bird watching, working out, tending my houseplants, cuddling my cat Basil, or tackling my next DIY project.
